Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade musically calls to mind the main character in the immortal story One Thousand and One Nights, and it evokes the wonders of that fairy-tale.
Lorena native Mia Orosco Kelso brings her deft touch to the fiery vein of Saint-Saëns’s Introduction and Rondo capriccioso, a piece originally composed as a finale to the composer’s first violin concerto that became far more successful as a solo composition. In addition to performing classical violin, Ms. Kelso is a championship fiddler, and she will enthrall the audience with some fancy fiddling.
