WSO Fellows Program and Auditions
The WSO Fellows Program offers a unique experiential learning and mentoring opportunity to undergraduate and graduate students seeking to gain professional experience during their study. The program accepts applications until August 7 exclusively via video audition using the link below. Videos submitted via Ensemble Manager will be reviewed blind by a panel of Waco Symphony members, including Music Director Lawrence Loh.
Fellows will have the opportunity to perform in at least one concert per year, paid at per service rates determined by the Waco Symphony. Additional opportunities include a masterclass-style mock audition, initiation dinner, and optional mentoring sessions.
Eligibility: Applications for the 2026-2027 season are open for all instruments EXCEPT horn, tuba, harp, and piano. Applicants must be currently enrolled full- or part-time at a postsecondary institution.

- Three contrasting excerpts of your choice
Video Guidelines
You may upload multiple recordings, one at a time. Video file sizes are capped at 500MB. If you experience difficulties uploading, please be sure your file fits within the size requirements. Because of file size limits, please record in 1080p/30fps video quality or lower. Do not record in 4K.
Please take into account the size of the room and its acoustic as well as the distance from the camera: the more reverberant the room, the closer you will need to be to the microphone.
The use of artificial reverberation or any other audio modification via post-production (editing, splicing, etc.) is prohibited and will result in disqualification. You may use an external microphone to achieve better sound quality and add this sound to the video afterwards, without cuts, edits or sound effects.
Watch and listen to your recording fully to be sure it represents what you want the jury to consider.
Videos should feature clear framing from at least the torso to head and include as much of your instrument as possible.
All solo works should be recorded without accompaniment.
FIRST, ENTER A FILE NAME IN THE TEXT BOX, THEN CLICK UPLOAD VIDEO. Only upload one file at a time. Uploading multiple files at a time will cancel all selections. Files should not exceed 500 MB.
FAQ
Question: I am under 18 years of age on the application deadline, may I apply?
Answer: You may apply as long as you are currently enrolled at a post-secondary institution for collegiate credit. High-school dual credit students are not eligible. Age is not an eligibility requirement.
Question: How many fellows will be accepted per instrument?
Answer: As many fellows as the committee hears whose playing qualifies for the internship may be accepted, however this number may be limited by the fact that we want to provide each fellow with the opportunity to play in the orchestra at least once. For example, there may only be two concerts with openings for a third kazoo position, so a maximum of two kazoo fellows would be accepted.
Question: When will I receive audition results?
Answer: Audition results will be sent about two weeks after the application deadline (August 7, 2026).
