Have you ever noticed how a song can suddenly take you somewhere else? One note can spark a memory, a chorus can make you feel like the world has paused just for you. That’s what Thursday, April 16, promises at Waco Hall.
With Mamie Parris, Shayna Steele, and Nathaniel Hackmann on stage alongside Lawrence Loh and the Waco Symphony Orchestra, the music doesn’t just play; it reaches out. You’ll feel the power of Wicked, the longing of Les Misérables, the joy of Beauty and the Beast, and the quiet beauty of Cats. Each note, each phrase, is meant to meet you where you are, to make you laugh, sigh, or hold your breath.
Take a stroll down the yellow brick road of Broadway favorites:
This is a chance to pause, be part of something real, and share a moment of music. Every song carries a spark of joy, longing, or exhilaration and threads them together into an evening that is rich and alive. It’s the kind of night where every note feels like a memory in the making.
The evening begins with Opening Notes from 6:10 p.m. to 7:10 p.m. in Recital Hall II, where Baylor musical theater and voice students will perform songs they workshopped in a masterclass with Mamie Parris and producer Doug LaBrecque. Think of it as a mini recital that celebrates the next generation of vocalists and gives a glimpse into the future of Broadway talent.
Follow the music. Step in. Let the night carry you into the Emerald City and beyond.
