The Symphony enjoys volunteerism from different groups that help to support the Symphony in various ways. You can volunteer for activities such as welcoming attendees to performances, ushering children’s school trip concerts, assisting in event planning and setup and more. Preview Parties and WSC Membership Meetings

A few days before each WSO concert, the Council hosts an informal gathering in a member’s home. These events feature Music Director Larry Loh, who shares insights about the composers and the program for the upcoming performance. In addition to offering a deeper appreciation for the music, these gatherings also serve as our General Council Meetings. Thursday, March 5, 2026 –Waco Hall
Each year, the Baylor Symphony Orchestra presents multiple concerts in a single day at Waco Hall, offering an age-appropriate and engaging orchestral experience for all area 4th and 5th grade students. Volunteers from the Waco Symphony Council help organize and coordinate participation with area schools, many of which serve students who might not otherwise have the opportunity to experience a live symphony performance in a concert hall. Nutcracker Volunteers

WSC volunteers assist local student dancers as backstage volunteers, including directional assistance, and being a helpful chaperone. Others are needed to help set up and sell merchandise at the Nutcracker Store in the lobby of Waco Hall before the performances and during intermission (possibly afterwards if merchandise still remains). Belles and Brass
Various dates for meetings – Presentation and Gala, Saturday, March 28, 2026
Each year, juniors from area high schools are presented at a formal gala as part of the Waco Symphony Orchestra’s Belles & Brass program. Girls, known as Belles, enroll as sophomores and participate through their junior year. Boys, known as Brass, join the program during their junior year. Throughout their time in the program, Belles & Brass serve as concert greeters and take part in a series of enriching experiences, including a multi-course etiquette dinner, music education, and leadership development training. The Waco Symphony Council will present its annual fundraiser in support of the Waco Symphony Orchestra. This year’s event will feature An Evening in Tuscany Wine Dinner, a Silent Experiences Auction, a Special Auction showcasing an exclusive selection of high-end wines and a high end Bourbon tasting and raffle for a premium bottle of Bourbon.
